Introducing the Westley App™: Your Music Practice Companion

The Westley App emerged from the desire to empower teachers and parents in motivating students to practice in a joyful and collaborative way. I'm Karen Poleshuck, a New York City-based cello teacher and performer with a passion for nurturing musical growth. With degrees in Cello Performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music and Music Education from Teacher's College, Columbia University, I've spent 20 years guiding students across the tri-state area teaching privately and at many schools including Mannes Prep and Silver Music.

Understanding the challenge of motivating students to practice, I created the Westley App. Named after Westley the dog, our encouraging guide, this app transforms practice into an engaging adventure. As a Suzuki teacher, I'm dedicated to the transformative power of music in self-expression. Embarking on the journey of learning a musical instrument comes with its challenges, and one of the greatest hurdles is cultivating a consistent and motivating practice routine. As an experienced cello instructor, I understand the vital role that well-established practice habits play in a student's musical evolution. After years of exploring various practice challenges and award systems, I embarked on a mission to revolutionize music education and foster a sense of unity in practice.

The Westley App features practice challenges, personalized milestones, and rewards. Together, we're reshaping music education, one note at a time. Join me in fostering a lifelong love for music and a solid foundation for growth.
